Our client operates a working arable farm with stables. They wanted to ensure that the electrical installation was safe for continued use and that current lighting levels were improved within the stables. 

Challenge

After carrying out and Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) of the buildings we discovered many areas of concern within the installation such as earth electrodes being corroded, exposed live conductors and compromised IP rating to electrical enclosures.

Additionally, the light levels within the stables were unsuitable with the horse owners having to wear head torches to be able to care for their horses.

Solution

We discussed the EICR with the customer and agreed a plan for improving the electrical installation and the light levels within the stable blocks.

We worked with our local wholesaler and lighting manufactures and developed a new lighting scheme for the stable blocks.

The project was then broken down in to a list of priorities with new distribution boards, small power (Socket outlets) and lighting to be installed.

Result

The end result was an electrical installation that was safe for continued use exceeding the current wiring regulations and greatly improved lighting throughout the stables and yards.

We continue to work with our customer on further projects around a workshop and menage and look forward to continuing to be our customer preferred electrical contractor.

Conclusion

We worked with our customer to understand their needs and requirements and designed a solution to meet their available budget. The end product exceeded their expectation and we are now their preferred trusted Electrical Contractor.
