Our customer wished to have some garden lights installed under trees, along a sea wall, around the summer house and in the fire pit. They wanted a wireless controller to control all lights being able to have different colours in different areas and a single switch integrated into their existing Rako home automation system.
The Challenge
A significant challenge in this protect was the environment. It is right on the shoreline with prevailing weather causing regular flooding and the new lighting could be impacted by this flooding.
Our Solution
To address the harsh environment challenge with contacted GAP Lighting to help specify suitable light fittings that would be suitable in the environment and a have wireless switch/control system to set colours and light levels by zones.
The trees were lit with 50W RGBCCT flood lights whilst the Seawall, Firepit and Summer House all had RGBCCT LED stripe installed within an aluminium profile with opaque lids. All LED power supplied were IP65 as were the Flood lights.
The challenge of the Rako integration; All the electrical supplies to the lights were switched via a contractor housed near to the consumer unit and used a Rako Wi-Fi switch controller to enable the Rako App to switch all the garden lights on and off from the customers phone.
The solution allows the customer to select different colours and light levels within the zones and then switch all on or off at the touch of their phone from anywhere in the world.
The Result
We met the customers brief in full providing the colour changing and switching they were looking for. We built a strong relationship with the customer and continue to regularly work at their home 3 years later.
Conclusion
The Customer had very precise requirements and knew what they wanted. After listening to their requirements and using the best fit manufacture for the end products we developed and delivered a solution that surpassed their expectations and built a long-standing working relationship.
Customer had recently bought a house. Soon after they moved in they had some electrical issues and a strange smell coming from the consumer unit.
The customer called us to inspect the properties electrical installation.
The Challenge
On inspection of the electrical installation we discovered many problems, burnt out switch gear in the consumer unit giving off a fishy burning smell being a major one. This could have easily caused a house fire.
Our Solution
Once we presented our finding to the customer they decided it safer to have the house rewired. We produced an itemised estimate for the work with a detailed specification for what work we would carry out and presented this to the customer for approval and contract.
The Result
We carried out the rewire over about a week. All sockets and light switches were chased in and made good. The property has a basement so trunking was installed through the basement to provide cable ways to the ground floor.
In case of circuit breakers tripping, emergency lights were installed in the basement to ensure there is always light available at the consumer unit.
